The advent of the monsoon season brings in a lot of fun, adventure and romance. Unfortunately, it also brings in some crappy things like traffic jams, water pollution, and dullness in surroundings, infections and above all hair woes. You can protect yourself again the climatic with a good diet, restrictions on street food and protection against monsoon-related infections.
But your hair is one thing that is always exposed to the harmful effects of the rainfall and thus you sure need to take extra care of your tresses during the monsoons. Going to the spa every other day becomes impossible and so I suggest you bring the spa home. Loads of beauty brands have now launched the hair spa ranges and you must find the one that is perfect for your crown. I tried the L’Oreal Professionnel Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range and here are my thoughts about it.
What is Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range all about?
L’Oreal Professionnel’s Hair Spa range claims to heal your hair from root to tip ensuring your hair strength and vitality to look beautiful inside and out. The products are infused with Water Lily that claims to have a soothing and calming effect on the hair, while it helps to detangle hair and supplements the hair fibre with nutrients and moisture for a more rehydrated, shiny and soft feel.
What are the ingredients of the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range?
The Deep Conditioning Hair Spa Shampoo contains SLS, Coco-Betaine, Glycerin, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride. Sodium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-6, Amodimethicone, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Salicylic Acid, Carbomer, Citric Acid, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicyate. Trideceth-6, Linalool, Butylphenyl, Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol,Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Coumarine, Cetrimonium Chlirode, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract and Sodim Hydroxide. The Deep Conditioning Hair Spa Conditioner contains Cetearyl Alcohol, Water, Mineral Oil, Behentrimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benxyl Salicylate, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone and Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract.
How is the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range packaged and priced?
The range is packed in a gorgeous blue bottle and tube with a contracting grey cap. The caps are specific to packaging styles with a flip cap on the shampoo bottle and a screw cap on the conditioner tube. The range is priced at INR 400 each for the shampoo (230ml) and conditioner (200ml).
How is my experience with the Deep Nourishing Hair Spa Range?
The L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Spa range is available in two variants Deep Nourishing and Detox. The Deep Nourishing range is apt for hair that is dry and prone to getting frizzy while the Detox range is apt for hair that is oily and prone to dandruff.
As I started my hair spa the first thing I noticed was the texture of the products which were extremely light and breezy. The Shampoo is creamy in a very light way and foams rather well and cleans exceptionally. Thus you will need very little portions during each wash to get rid of all residual including the monsoon grease and oil. The conditioner is again pretty light to use and allows the hair to breathe well after use. It does its job of giving the extra shine and smoothness to the hair setting it well naturally.
Over the course of the day, my hair remained soft and smooth, was easy to style and most important remained in place. Since I wash my hair every alternate day I have not had a problem of dry and fizz, greasy and oiliness since some time now. However, the real test will be in the monsoon season and during my trip to Sri Lanka later this month.
Overall, I would say this range is good for all hair types and would work all over the seasons. It cleanses the scalp well and leaves the hair soft, smooth and frizz-free. The range is mild enough for everyday use and is a winner; however, the presence of SLS is a dampener due to the huge debate going around on the effects of sulphate on hair; especially as it is unadvised on my chemically straightened hair. But all-in-all, it’s a good range to use once a fortnight to achieve the small hair miracles.
Product Strengths:
§ Cleanses hair thoroughly
§ Nourishes to smoothen hair
Product Weaknesses:
§ Contains SLS and Alcohol
§ Available only in professional beauty salons
Will I purchase the range again for personal use? Maybe
Will I recommend the range to my friends & family? Maybe
Have you tries the Hair Spa range from L’Oreal Professionnel? What are your thoughts on the products?
